Clean the barrel and receiver group if the weapon begins to jam more frequently. Coat a bristle bore brush with firearm cleaning solvent. Swab inside the barrel and receiver with the solvent coated brush to remove residue. Dry cleaning rod and dry patch to dry the barrel and inside of the receiver group. Moisten the patch lightly with oil and use rod to swab inside of barrel and receiver.
Remove powder residue from bolt assembly if the bolt action of the weapon starts making unusual noises. Moisten the patch with the cleaning solvent. Wipe down all surfaces of the bolt to remove carbon build-up. Wipe the bolt dry and apply a coat of oil.
Inspect the magazine for damage and debris. A damaged or obstructed magazine could prevent proper weapon performance. Replace damaged magazines. Use a soft brush to clean the lip area and top of the magazine. Wipe magazine with clean patch.
