Instructions
Attach one end of the tow rope to the cleat located just under the seat at the back of the Waverunner. Pass the handle end of the rope to the skier in the water.
Position the spotter on the PWC seated backwards, holding onto the rear handgrip. The spotter's job is to watch the skier and communicate any necessary information to the driver. A set of basic hand signals for the skier and spotter to communicate is often used.
Apply gentle throttle and steer the boat in the direction you want to pull the skier. When the rope is tight, let off the throttle.
Apply full throttle 10 seconds after the skier signals they are ready to be pulled out of the water.
Bring the PWC to 20 to 25 miles per hour and steer the vessel in a direction that avoids all traffic on the lake. Avoid making sudden turns as the skier won't be expecting these movements.
Turn the PWC around if the skier falls or lets go and immediately return to his position in the water. This avoids another boat mistakenly driving over the skier because of the person's low position in the water.
