How to Do Magic With Your Fingers

Good magic tricks can always captivate a crowd. With most finger magic tricks, the fingers are all that are needed. Finger tricks can be interesting to viewers because finger magic leaves less to the imagination than elaborate trick,s and they can be more intimate. They are also convenient magic tricks because they can be done anywhere. Finger magic tricks can be used to break the ice when meeting a new person.

Things You'll Need

Small box
Scissors
Talcum powder or chalk
Cotton balls

Instructions

The Mummified Finger Trick

  Cut a hole in the bottom of a small box that is big enough to fit your left middle finger inside. Use the scissors to cut the hole.

  Rub chalk or talcum powder on your finger to give it an authentic "mummified" look.

  Spread cotton balls throughout the bottom of the box. Spread the cotton balls to get more coverage out of less cotton. The cotton will cover the base of the box.

  Insert your finger into the hole from the bottom of the box. Rest the box in your left palm. After your finger is inserted curl it backwards, pointing it at yourself. Rest your finger on the cotton. Place the lid on the box.

  Find an unsuspecting patron to try the trick on. Tell them that you have bought a mummified finger from the museum and have it in a box if they would like to see it.

  Remove the lid and slightly move your finger as they peek into the box. This will make them question what is going on. Make them feel like they are imagining the finger moving and let them have a second look. When they go to take the second look, move your finger around and push the box towards their face. Thinking that a mummified finger is alive is sure to make them jump in terror.
Magnetic Finger Trick

  Have a friend volunteer to let you try a little hypnosis on him. The magnetic fingers trick is a trick that can win you some friendly bets or even bar bets.

  Assure your friend that it is safe and that nothing bad will happen. That should make him or her feel more at ease about the pending hypnosis they are agreeing to.

  Have the friend weave his fingers together in a clasped position. Tell them to raise both of the index fingers and keep them about an inch apart.

  Tell your friend to raise both of index fingers and keep them about an inch apart. Move your hands slowly over your friend's hands and hum or chant something that will make it believable.

  Tell your friend that his or her index fingers will begin to touch no matter how hard they fight it. Their fingers will begin to touch no matter what they try.
