How to Fix Broken Pedal Straps on an Organ

An organ pedal that is stuck in the "down" position is an indication that a strap may broken. You can fix broken straps by replacing them, using a piece of lamb skin if you want to make sure original material is being used. To do this, you will need to determine where the broken strap is located.

  • Utility knife
  • Lamb skin
  • Wood glue
  • Hot Glue
  • Glue gun

Instructions

      Locate the screws that are used to secure the front panel. Remove the screws.

      Look inside the organ to see if there is a broken pedal or bellow strap. Cut the broken strap off with the utility knife.

      Place a piece of lamb skin over the area with the smooth side facing down. Mark the areas you need to cut. Cut the lamp skin to the required size.

      Glue the lamb skin to the pedal or area around the bellows. You can also use hot glue with a glue gun.
