Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut the top flaps off the cardboard box. Stand the box on one of it's sides. Cut squares out of the remaining three sides, leaving the bottom of the box intact. The squares should be nearly as large as the side. Leave a 2-inch border around the outside of the squares.
Paint the inside of the box with white spray paint. Prevent light glares and reflections by using matte spray paint. Allow the spray paint to dry before handling. Some boxes may require two coats. Allow the paint to dry before adding additional coats of paint.
Cut three pieces of white fabric that are large enough to cover each of the square cutouts on the box. Plain white t-shirts, sheets or pillowcases will work for the fabric.
Stand the box back onto the side without a cutout if you moved it during painting. Cover the three cutout sides with a piece of cut fabric. The fabric should be on the outside of the box. Secure the fabric to the box by running strips of duct tape down the edges of the fabric and onto the box. Leave the front of the box open.
Cut a piece of poster board until it is the same width as the box. Cut the length of the poster board so it is twice as long as the tent. Glue one end of the poster board to the inside back wall of the tent so that it is flush with the tent's ceiling and side walls. Let the poster board naturally bend around the bottom back seam and out the front of the tent. Do not crease or fold the poster board.
Arrange lamps around the light tent on the sides with fabric coverings until the inside of the tent is brightly illuminated. Do not set the lamps so close that they become a fire hazard. Your light tent is now ready to use.
