How to Get Pictures Resized for a Locket

Lockets are small items of jewelry that are traditionally worn on a necklace. They contain a small compartment where a tiny picture can be placed. Lockets can also be small brooches or, in some cases, are attached to a wristband. While there is no standard size to a locket compartment, they are extremely small. Typically the picture placed inside lockets are of a loved one's face only. Any picture where more than the person's face is displayed is likely going to be too small to identify the person.

Click and hold the mouse key and drag the cursor toward the upper right of the person's face. Release the mouse button when this motion is done.

Double-click on the highlighted area of the person's face to crop the picture. Click ̶0;Image̶1; or ̶0;Size̶1; in the navigation bar and enter the dimensions of the locket. Click ̶0;OK̶1; and the picture will be resized.

    • 4

Click ̶0;File̶1; and select ̶0;Save as̶1; from the drop-down menu. Save your resized picture as a differently named file from original.

Click ̶0;File̶1; and select ̶0;Print̶1; from the drop-down menu. Print the picture on a sheet of 4 inch by 6 inch paper. The image will be a very small part of the print. Trim the excess photo paper using scissors and your locket-sized picture is ready to be placed inside the locket.
