Create a personal website and photo blog. These two items will quickly become your virtual storefront on the Internet. Creating the website and blog is not enough, however, you will need to promote and constantly update it to keep it current. The regular updates will show individuals that you are working and are serious about your profession.
Create a Facebook page and a Twitter account where you can link your blog and website. Most of these applications are interconnected now, making it very easy for you to post a picture to your blog and send out a tweet that will automatically send your post to your twitter account and post the link onto your Facebook page.
Join your local chamber of commerce or other business networking club. These clubs will often have a presentation schedule where you can be the keynote speaker talking about -- and more importantly -- showing your work.
Host a monthly open house at your studio. Many community newspapers will have an event calendar where you can list your open house for free. Pick a day that will work for you each month, the second Sunday at 2 p.m. for example, and keep the date and time the same. Make sure you have new work to display for each new open house.
