Things You'll Need
Instructions
Inspect the space you want to use for your studio. To make it work with the minimum amount of time and expense, the space should have two or three power outlets. Ideally, the room also will have a source of natural light, but it is not necessary. Consider a space, too, where models can change in privacy.
Paint the space with a flat white interior paint. You do not want to use a glossy paint because it can reflect the light and cause a reflection from the studio lights.
Hang a backdrop in the space using a backdrop stand. Place two or four studio lights inside the space. Two lights will work for a number of different studio shots. Additional lights give you more control over accent lighting, such as a ̶0;hair light̶1; or to illuminate the background.
Obtain props, backdrops, benches, chairs, stools and other items that can be used in your studio.
Attach your camera to the tripod you want to use inside the studio and you are ready to begin.
