Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check that your images are in RAW format. RAW is a full-resolution format that retains all of your image's sharpness, color and clarity for maximum print quality. Magazines will not look twice at images that are poorly rendered or pixelated.
Select the best images out of your collection. With a photographer friend or fellow car enthusiast, sit down and pick the photos that emphasize a specific car's features, communicate the mood at an auto event or illustrate the simple pleasure of being behind the wheel. Instead of filling the disc with sub-par photos, include only 10 or 20 of your very best shots.
Copy your images to several DVD-R discs. Package the discs in plastic jewel cases or protective sleeves.
Obtain the mailing addresses of your favorite auto magazines. Include big name publications as well as a few smaller magazines. Though the pay from a large publication may be great, small-time or independent magazines may be more likely to use your images along with editorial content.
Place the discs in separate padded envelopes and address them accordingly. Include a note with your name and contact information with each disc. Bring the envelopes to your preferred parcel service and pay for shipment.
Await response from the magazines. Most will notify you of their intent to print one of your images or respectfully decline via email, traditional mail or phone.
