How to Turn Off Nikon Burst Shooting

One particular setting that Nikon cameras offer is the burst shooting mode. This mode is designed to capture a series of photographs in quick succession. Burst mode is commonly used to capture movement such as at a sporting event. As long as you hold the shutter button down and the camera is in burst mode, you will capture a series of photos. While this mode is very helpful, it can be a real pain if you don̵7;t know how to turn it off. Fortunately, Nikon cameras are quite user-friendly and it̵7;s not hard to switch off this function.

Instructions

    • 1

Check your digital display screen to ensure that burst shooting mode is indeed turned on ̵2; you won̵7;t be able to turn it off if it̵7;s not already enabled. The burst mode is indicated in a box located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. If there is a number higher than 1 next to the box, you must disable burst mode.

    • 2

Navigate to the control settings for your camera and select the pencil icon to access the ̶0;Shooting and Display̶1; menu.

    • 3

Scroll down to the ̶0;CL Shooting Speed Mode̶1; and then scroll down to ̶0;1 fps̶1; and select this option. When you have this mode selected, burst shooting will be disabled because you will only shoot one frame per second instead of capturing many images at once.
