Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select a large cardboard box. The box needs to be sturdy and large enough to house the largest item you want to photograph.
Remove the top flaps from the box. Lay the box on its side, measure and draw large squares on three sides of the box leaving a 1-inch border around the square on those three sides. These are the cutlines you will use to create the openings on the two sides and the top of the box.
Cut out the squares using a utility knife. When done your box should have three sides with large openings, but still have enough strength to hold its shape.
Lay the white vinyl shower curtain on the floor and place one of the cut outs on the shower curtain. Trace around the outside of the cut out with a marker and cut three panels out of the shower curtain.
Tape these panels onto two of the sides of the cardboard box. Leave the top open for now. Place the sheet of white poster board into the cardboard box through the top opening. Tape the poster board to the top inside of the box. Allow the poster board to lay with a slight bend in the board and tape the poster board to the front bottom on the inside of the box. This will create a "seamless" backdrop for the item you are photographing.
Tape the third panel to the top opening of the box. Place a desk lamp above the box and direct it so it is shining into the box.
Place the item you wish to photograph inside the box. Attach your camera to a tripod and position it at the opening of the box and you are ready to start shooting.
