Visual Light Allusion Effects in a Picture Editor

Picture editors like Adobe Photoshop allow you to fix red eye, distort images, add elements like rainbows and trees, and change the colors of objects from hair color to flowers. They also allow you to create visual light allusion affects that give you options like adding graphic light elements to give the photo a contemporary edge and focusing light on a particular point in the photo.
  1. Linear Light

    • Linear light gives direction to the light in a flat photo, or a photo that has evenly distributed light. You can choose where the light is coming from in the photo and the brightness of that light in different areas of the photo. This effect can brighten up a portion of the photo that you want the viewer's eye to be drawn to.

    Focus With Light

    • Focus with light allows you to target any point in a photo and illuminate it. The farther you get from the point you are focusing on, the darker the photo will become. You can adjust the degree of fade from the focus point. This effect allows you to focus the photo and the eye of the viewer on the subject of the photo without it being centered.

    Dusk Lighting Effect

    • Dusk lighting effect allows you to give any photo the allusion of dusky lighting no matter what time of day the photo was taken. This effect can add a mysterious contemporary edge to your photo, while not being over the top or diluting any of the image with too much or too little light.

    Expressive Lighting Effect

    • The expressive lighting effect gives photographers the opportunity to inject a little of their personality into a photo. They can add lighted graphics to surround an object in a photo. These graphics can be anything from vines to fireworks. You can also adjust the brightness of the graphic and the fade out of it. This effect gives photos a contemporary custom looking edge.
