Things You'll Need
Instructions
Decide on a wardrobe for you shoot. Short skirts in colors ranging from black to red matched with a blouse that can be tied at the waste or that is fitted creating a sleek look will work for your wardrobe.
Select a 1950s image and replicate the way makeup was applied. Bright, bold lipstick and eye makeup were traditional for the 1950s pinup model. There are many good examples of this type of look available on the Internet if you need inspiration.
Pose the model kneeling with her back facing you and have her turn her head back toward the camera. This is classic 1950s pinup pose. Another pose is to have the model sit facing you, have her extend her legs slightly separated at a 30 to 45 degree angle to her side and have her lean, supporting herself with a straight arm. Start with these two poses and work with them making slight adjustments.
Add props such as a brightly colored 10-pin bowling ball, roller skates or fuzzy dice that would be hung on a car interior's mirror. Any items that are bright in color and match the culture will work well in the shoot. You can also have your model hold a compact mirror and pose as if she is applying red lipstick.
Shoot a variety of shots. Use a simple white backdrop and shoot a mix of full-body, partial body and close-up shots.
