Set up photo strobes or continuous photo lights that are balanced for daylight. Alternatively, you can attach a daylight filter to the front of your lens to correct the light you are shooting under. Slide film may be known for good color reproduction, but you must shoot the work under "daylight" lighting conditions to obtain the best results.
Attach the camera to a tripod and position the camera so that your artwork fills the frame as much as possible. You may be able to hold a camera still, but using a tripod will ensure that there is little or no camera shake in the images that you are taking of your artwork.
Turn the camera on, set the exposure mode to "Aperture Priority" and set the aperture to a setting between f8 to f11. This setting will give you a good depth of field that will be necessary to ensure that any sculptures will be in focus from the front to the back.
Take the picture and take two additional pictures of each object. One of these pictures should be slightly over exposed and the other under exposed. This is called bracketing and it ensures that out of the three images you will have one picture that has the correct exposure.
