How to Balance Out Yellow in a Photo

In the post-production process, color balancing is the step of adjusting the color channels to create a balanced picture. Whether you are adjusting an old picture that contains a lot of yellow or fixing a picture where the white balance was incorrectly set, knowing how to fix the color will allow you to correct mistakes made when the picture was taken. Use an advanced photo editing program like GIMP, Paint.net or Photoshop for this type of editing task.

Click "Enhance" in the navigation bar and select "Adjust color" then "Color variations" from the drop-down menu. There will be three color adjustments for increasing or decreasing the level of each channel. By increasing or decreasing the red, green and blue channel, you can remove the yellow color cast from your picture. Once you have adjusted the picture to your satisfaction, click "OK" and the program will adjust the picture and close the window.
