Instructions for Flip Pix

The digitized photo book has put a 21st Century spin on the coffee table book. FlipPix is one free software program that allows users to edit and customize their own photos to create hard copy photo books for a more creative and personal display of photos in the home. While the old photo album still holds a place in the gallows of family history, FlipPix digitized photo books have a flexible layout and design and allow users to place a description next to photos to cement the memories in words as well as in images. The software is easy to use and allows you to order your photo book directly from your computer.

Instructions

  Open the FlipPix software and click on the "Start New Project" button.

  Select the style and size of your photo book. It is not necessary to designate a number of pages at this point.

  Click on the "Add folder" icon at the top of the FlipPix window. Navigate to the folder in which your photos are saved and click "Select."

  Click on "Create."

  Drag and drop photos from the left hand pane to the photo book that is laid out in two-page sets. Click on the desired page number in the page preview section running along the top of the FlipPix window to toggle between pages.

  Select your desired layout, background and style from the options running along the bottom of the FlipPix window.

  Click on the "Add Text" command in the toolbar located just above the main pane. Click inside the text-box that appears and type any words you wish to appear next to your photos. When finished you may double-click on the words at any time to edit them.

  Click "File" and then "Save as" in the main menu. Name your photo book and choose a destination to save it on your computer. Click "Save."

  Click on the shopping trolley icon on the far right of the toolbar when you are ready to order your photo book. Enter your name, address and payment details on the secure payment page and click "Ok."
