How to Make Photo Templates

Templates are often used as backgrounds for correspondence or documents for use personally or by a company. You can create a template using pictures in a number of different programs. You may want to use a picture of the products your company produces as the template for your documents. Once you have created and saved a template file, you can work the photo template into many different aspects of your company's communications objectives.

      Open Microsoft Word. When the new blank file opens up on your screen, click the "Insert" tab across the navigation bar of the program.

      Navigate to the folder containing the image you want to use as the template using your computer's cursor. Click on the file to highlight it and click "OK" located in the bottom right of the window, and the picture will be added to the blank document.

      Click on "Format -- Picture Tools" in the navigation bar and customize the picture to your requirements. You can add a drop box, a border line and other different effects to the picture.

      Click "File" and select "Save As" from the drop-down menu. In the new dialog box that opens up, select "Word Template" from the list of options. Give the new document a name and save it to your computer's hard drive.
