Instructions
Turn on your home computer and open Adobe Photoshop CS5 or Elements. Digital photographs have three properties that can be adjusted to change the proportions of the picture: height, width and resolution.
Click "File" in the navigation bar and select "Open" from the drop down menu. Use your cursor to navigate to the folder containing the image you want to edit. When the picture opens up click "Image" in the navigation bar and select "Resize" and select "Image size" from the drop down menu.
Change the value in the height and width boxes in the new dialogue box that opens up. The resolution of the image is displayed in the third box, changing this value will affect the quality of the image when it is printed. Click "Ok" and the program will resize the image per the changes you have made.
Click "File" and select "Save as" from the drop down menu. Give the edited picture a new name and save the new image to your computer's hard drive so you don't overwrite the original image.
