How to Make a Digitally Manipulated Photo

Digital photography and the use of advanced photo editing programs like Adobe Photoshop or free programs like GIMP that is modelled on Photoshop, give photographers the tools to dramatically alter an image appearance. By using the "Layers" feature in both programs, users can completely change the appearance of the image or add colored filters that would be used in traditional film photography. Using layers for each alteration also allows you to go and selectively remove that alteration by simply deleting the layer.
