How to Remove Photos From Getty Images

Getty Images is one of the largest online providers of stock images. Getty represents a core group of photographers and freelancers around the world who post their images to its website. Getty also owns or is associated with a number of other stock photo agencies. You can post your images on Getty's site, or any of its partner websites, once you have signed an agreement. However, once your images are posted, you may have difficulty in removing them.

Determine your status within the Getty organization. There are three stages within the agreement. 1. You have signed the agreement, but have not posted your images on their site. 2. You have signed their agreement and posted to their site, but have no sales. 3. You have signed the agreement, posted to their site and have sales.

Forget about posting images to the Getty site if you are at the No. 1 stage. You may have signed a contract with Getty. But as long as you have not posted any images, none will be posted by anyone else. Simply don't post any images and make sure no one else does either with your credentials.

Do not remove your pictures from Getty if you are at No. 2 or No. 3. In these situations, you need to fulfill or wait out your two-year agreement with Getty. At the end of the two years, you need to provide them 60 days notice in writing of your intention to remove the images from their site.
