Attach the Novoflex bellows to a tripod. Since the field of view is very small using a bellows system, a tripod is required to eliminate camera movement during exposure.
Turn your Nikon camera off and remove the lens from the camera. Attach the Nikon adapter rings to the mounting ring on the camera and the mounting ring of the lens. Novoflex produces bellows that can be used on a variety of cameras through the use of adapter rings.
Attach your Nikon camera to the rear of the Novoflex bellows by lining up the guide dots and rotating the camera until it clicks into place. It is a good idea to have the camera strap around your neck while doing this to prevent the camera from falling to the ground if not connected correctly. Attach the lens to the front of the bellows.
Turn your Nikon camera on, switch the focusing selector switch to "MF," switch the lens to "MF" and focus the lens to its closest focusing distance.
Position the tripod in order to compose and shoot the image you are interested in. Loosen the focusing knobs on the rail of the bellow system. Adjust the focusing knobs until the picture both fills the viewfinder and is in focus. This takes some practice.
Press the shutter release halfway to activate the metering system on your Nikon and then press the shutter release entirely to take the picture. Review the picture on the Nikon's LCD screen and magnify the image to ensure it is in focus. Make adjustments to your exposure if needed and continue shooting.
