Slide Instructions for Minolta Scanners

Digital technology has had a significant impact on the world of photography. Not only has it changed the way we take, store and edit pictures, it has provided photographers with a reasonably priced way to convert an archive of 35mm slides into digital files. Slide film was known for its ability to reproduce color accurately. Digital scanners like the Minolta Dimage series of scanners provide a slide feeder option that allows you load up to 50 mounted slides for scanning.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your home computer. Open the Minolta Dimage Scan Multi software program and press the power button on the scanner to turn it on.

    • 2

Lift the cover of the slide feeder. Raise and hold the pressure bar located on the "In" column positioned on the left side of the slide feeder.

    • 3

Insert the slides with the emulsion side facing down. The emulsion side is the non-reflective or gray side of the slide. Load up to 50 slides into the feeder or insert slides up to the white fill line located near the top of the feeder.

    • 4

Close the slide feeder cover and click the "Prescan" button in the main window of the software. From here you can rotate the slide image if needed, enlarge it, or adjust the focus, exposure and sharpness of the image. Once all of the settings have been adjusted, click the "Scan" button to complete the scan.

    • 5

Select the type of file format you want to save the scanned image with, give the scanned image a name and click "Save" in the new dialogue box to save your scanned slide to your computer's hard drive.
