Things You'll Need
Instructions
Download Adobe Photoshop or GIMP, which both have similar tools. Once you have downloaded the program, open it.
Click "File" in the navigation bar and select "Open" from the drop-down menu. Navigate to the folder containing the picture you want to edit, using your cursor. Click to highlight the photo, and click "OK" in the bottom right of the window to open the photo in the editor.
Select the "Clone Stamp Tool," then in the tool bar select a brush and size that closely match the size of the hanger in the picture. The name from program to program may be slightly different; it is called "Clone Tool" in GIMP. However, the icon is the same in each. The tool is represented by a small ink stamp and, once selected, the steps to edit the picture are the same in each program.
Press and hold the "Alt" key and click a portion of the picture close to the hanger. This selection will fill in the area where the hanger is located.
Click and drag your cursor over the hanger and the program will paint out the hanger, replacing it with sample that you selected. Repeat the process until the hanger is gone. You may need to make other selection points to keep the picture looking correct and natural.
Click "File" and select "Save as" from the drop-down menu. Give your edited picture a new name and save it to your computer's hard drive.
