Things You'll Need
Instructions
Research photos from the 1920s. Study the lighting style, the props used in the photos, the type of clothes and hair styles.
Purchase the props and clothing that you will need for your shoot. For props, you may need to visit a number of antique stores, flea markets and estate sales to find props from the 1920s. Visit vintage or used clothing stores to find 1920-era clothing. You can also visit costume stores that sell outfits for Halloween or costume balls.
Find a makeup artist and hair stylist that can reproduce the look you will need to achieve the style to match the 1920s-era picture you are trying to recreate.
Set up the photo shoot by positioning the props and photo studio lights to match those in the photo you found. Have your subjects/models go through makeup and hair styling and finally into wardrobe.
Position the models to match the 1920s photo you found. Shoot the photo, review the picture and make adjustments if needed to the lighting or the model's position and re-shoot.
