How to Make Prints From a 10 Megapixel Canon Rebel

The Canon Rebel 10- megapixel cameras capture images in JPEG and RAW formats. These common formats enable uses to create prints from home computers, online services and on in-store kiosks. The images are stored on Secure Digital or Secure Digital High Capacity -- known as SD and SDHC, respectively -- memory cards. Making prints from your camera at home on a quality printer can produce lasting, high-quality images. Online services and kiosks provide expanded print options, including poster prints, t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads calendars and more.

Instructions

  1. Home Computer

      Turn off the camera. Open the memory card door, push down on the memory card to release it from the slot. Lift the card from the slot.

      Insert the memory card into a card reader. If your computer is not equipped with an SD card reader, purchase or acquire a USB SD card reader. Connect the reader to the USB port, then insert the SD or SDHC card into the card reader.

      Browse the contents of the card using your computer. Click on the file name of the photo you wish to print.

      Open the file with a photo program of your choice. Windows and Macintosh photo viewers will allow printing of the files, if no professional photo programs like Photoshop are installed.

      Direct the photo viewer or photo program to print the file. Select the print size, media type and quality of print.

      Allow the photo to completely dry. Trim with scissors, if the print is smaller than the page.

    Online Service

      Select an online photo service based on the prices you're willing to pay, the products available and availability of prints. Some photo services, such as Snapfish, make prints available for in-store pickup at stores including Walgreens and Wal-Mart.

      Access the online photo-service website and create a profile.

      Upload the files to the online service. Browse, when directed, to the file location on the SD card -- inserted into a card reader -- or previously copied files on your computer's hard drive. Select the files and upload them according to the instructions specific to the online photo service you are using.

      Edit the files using the photo service tools. Select the products you wish to have printed. Complete the transaction by following the on-screen instructions.

    Store Kiosk

      Remove the SD or SDHC card from your camera.

      Take the card to an in-store photo kiosk. Insert the SD or SDHC card into the card reader. The photo kiosk will have many card slots available. Insert your memory card into the slot labeled "SD" or "SDHC."

      Load the images from the SD card to the kiosk. Remove your SD card when directed.

      Follow the on-screen instructions to select the type of product you wish to print, make edits to your photos, and check out.
