Using a Faster Shutter Speed
Set your camera to "shutter priority" mode. On digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, shutter priority mode is often abbreviated as "Tv" on the command dial. On compact cameras, it is denoted by a single "S." This mode allows you to set the camera's shutter speed while the camera selects the aperture, or size of the lens opening, that will give proper exposure.
Select a shutter speed of 1/500th of a second or faster using your camera's control pad or LCD interface. This speed is enough to freeze most fast action.
Look through the viewfinder and compose your photograph.
Focus on your subject using either autofocus (AF) mode or by manually rotating your lens' focus ring.
Pan your camera along with your moving subject and press the shutter button gently to take the photograph.
Correcting with Image-Editing Software
Open the blurred image in the image-editing program of your choice.
Select the "Filter" tab from the software's top toolbar, or from the collapsible menu to the side. The location of the filters may vary depending on the software you're using.
Choose Sharpen or Smart Sharpen from the drop-down menu that appears. A list of sharpening filters which help remove different types of blur, including motion blur, will appear.
Click "Motion Blur" or "Remove Motion Blur" from the list. The blurred area of your photograph will be corrected once the filter is applied.
