Things You'll Need
Instructions
Before you can save the slides to a memory card, they must first be converted to digital files. This is done using a flatbed scanner. Carefully clean the slides using a anti-static cloth. This cloth will remove any dust or debris from the slide that may corrupt the digital image.
Place the slide face-down on the scanner's platen, or load the slide into a carrier tray if one is included. Turn your computer on and open the software for the scanner. Select "Slide film" as the media being scanned. Create a folder where the scanned slide will save.
Click the "Start/Scan" button. Review the slide in the preview screen. If you are satisfied with the image, click "Ok" to complete the scan and save the slide to the folder. Repeat this process until all the slides have been scanned.
Insert a memory card into the card reader built-in or connected to your computer. Wait a moment for your computer to acknowledge the new card. Open the window for the memory card on your computer.
Open the folder containing the slides. Press and hold the "CTRL" and "A" key on your computer's keyboard. This will highlight every file in the folder.
Right click one of the slides files and select "Send to" from the drop down menu and select the icon that represents the memory card. Click "Ok" and the computer will copy your slides onto the memory card.
