How to Convert Digital Photo Into a Slide

Digital cameras are as much computers as they are cameras. While the image travels through the lens in the same way it does with film cameras, once it enters the camera it is recorded on a digital sensor that processes the information and saves it as a file to a memory card. Converting these digital images into a slide format requires you to photograph the digital image once it has been printed into a picture.

Things You'll Need

  • Tripod
  • 35mm slide film
  • 35mm film camera
  • Two photographic studio lights
  • plane of clear glass

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the printed digital picture onto a desk or table. Place a piece of clean, clear glass on top of the digital picture so it lays flat.

    • 2

Load a roll of slide film into your 35mm film camera. Attach the camera to a tripod and position the camera above the printed picture. The tripod will help to keep the camera still while the picture is being taken.

    • 3

Position two photo studio lights, one on each side of the picture and angle the lights towards the picture. Turn the lights on and look through the camera to make sure there is not glare or reflection of the lights on the glass. Adjust the lights to remove any glare or reflection.

    • 4

Focus the camera, and adjust the exposure to match the camera's light meter. Press the shutter release to take the picture.
