How to Create Printable Photo Books

Printable photo books are an easy and effective way to preserve your photos for a lifetime. If you rarely have time to update your photo albums with pictures you have stored on your camera or have photos printed but haven't had time to store them in a photo album, then a printable photo album is a sensible option. They are available in different sizes and hold as many pictures as you want to include.

Instructions

  1. Starting Your Photo Book

    • 1

Select a printable photo book supplier from the Internet such as shutterfly.com or kodakgallery.com or go to a photo-printing station at your local retail store.

    • 2

Download the pictures you want in your photo album from your camera card to the supplier you chose.

    • 3

Select either a customized or a standard photo book. Customized photo books take longer to create but add a personal touch. You can make a standard photo book much faster than a customized book and still have a professional-looking photo album.

    Standard Photo Books

    • 4

Select the size photo book you wish to create. Sizes range from 5-by-7 inch to 12-by-12 inch.

    • 5

Select a range of photos you want in your photo book. The supplier will automatically arrange your photos in chronological order. You may place between one and four pictures on each page.

    • 6

Choose the backgrounds you want for each page of your photo book or a theme you want used throughout the entire book. Each background comes with a predetermined layout for pictures.

    • 7

Edit your pictures. This includes removing red eye, resizing and rotating pictures.

    • 8

Enter short captions to go with each picture. You may want to add captions to only a certain number of photos.

    Customized Photo Books

    • 10

Select a range of photos you want in your photo book. You may place between one and 16 photos on each page.

    • 11

Select the style of background you want to use -- either for each page or for the entire book.

    • 12

Edit your pictures. This includes removing red eye, resizing and rotating pictures.

    • 13

Add text and captions to photos in a variety of fonts, colors and sizes.
