Family Portrait
Your first anniversary is when you can start planning to have an annual family portrait done. Each year as your marriage grows in length, your family will also grow. Take the same picture, with everyone standing in the same position, in front of your current house, and in similar position in front of future homes each year. Over the years, the pictures will tell a story of the growth of your family and the homes you lived in.
At the Church
If your first anniversary is you and your spouse, return to your church and have a picture taken in front of it. Keep the picture simple and dress in casual everyday clothes. This will be a good contrast to the formal wedding pictures that were taken there on your wedding day.
With Wedding Party
Reconvene your wedding party and return to the location where you had your wedding pictures shot. Re-assemble the wedding party in similar positions as your wedding picture. You can choose to dress casually or formal. Position the bridal party in similar, but not exact the same places as when the wedding pictures where shot. Place this picture in a two-picture frame and replace it each with year with a similar picture.
Place You Were Engaged
If there is a special place or location where you and your spouse became engaged, return to it each year on your anniversary and have a new picture taken. You can recreate they way you were engaged. Each year you can return to this place or other locations that become special in your life.
