How to Add a Gerber Baby Background to a Photo

You can add a picture into one of your photos and use as a background through working with a photo editing program that utilizes "Layers." Layers are like see-through pages that you can add to a picture. You can adjust the opacity of the layers to become very visible or just slightly visible. You can also use these layers as backgrounds. Using this feature allows you drop in specific pictures like a Gerber Baby picture as a background.

Instructions

  Obtain a digital picture of the Gerber Baby that you want to use as a background. Because the Gerber Baby is a copyrighted image, downloading it for your own use may violate copyright law. Contact Gerber through its website and arrange to purchase or obtain a digital version of the picture (see Resources).

  Download a free trial version of Adobe Photoshop or the free programs GIMP or Paint.net that are based on Photoshop.

  Open the program you downloaded. Click "File" and select "Get picture" from the dropdown menu. Select the picture you want to add.

  Click "Layer" in the navigation bar and select "Layer from Background." A new layer will appear in the right margin of the window.

  Click the new layer and click "File." Select "Place" from the dropdown menu. Select the Gerber Baby picture you want to add, and click "Ok." The Gerber Baby picture will now appear.

  Click "Opacity" and adjust the slide tool to change the visibility of the Gerber Baby picture.

  Click "Layer" and select "Flatten image." This will compress the layers and allow you to save the new picture.
