How to Create Photo Websites

Websites are an effective way for photographers both professional and amateur to display their work. In the early days of the Internet to create a website you would need to have a good understanding of how to write programming code to create pages for the website. These days there are many websites that provide photographers with many styles and options to create a website that fits the individual photographer's need for a website.

  Decide what the website will be used for. Will it be a display website or will clients use it to order prints or download digital files off of the website?

  Decide on a name for the website, complete a domain search for the name you want to use. If the domain is available purchase the domain name. A domain name is the electronic address for your website.

  Pick the website company that will best suit your needs for either a display or commerce website. Select from the templates offered by the company for your website.

  Build the website by completing one page at a time. Start with the front or main page, this is the first page that people will see when they find your website.

  Complete galleries and other information for your website. Upload your pictures to your site and sort them into the different galleries you have created. Depending on the site you selected how you do this will vary slightly, but in almost all cases you can upload multiple pictures at one time to your website.
