Things You'll Need
Instructions
Turn on your home computer, film scanner and set the source in the software of the film scanner to "Slides." If you do not change the source to slides, the scanner will automatically scan, assuming that they are film negatives.
Prepare the slides for scanning by carefully cleaning them using an "anti-static" cloth. This specially treated cloth is designed to remove dust from the slides and help prevent dust from collecting during the scanning process.
Load the slides into the automatic feeder of the film scanner and press the "Scan/Start" button to commence the scan.
Open the "CD Burner" drive in your computer and insert a blank CD. Once all the slides have been scanned into your computer, locate the folder containing the scanned slides. Right-click the folder and select "Send to" from the drop-down menu.
Click the icon that represents the CD burner drive and click the "Ok" button, located in the bottom-right of the window. Your computer will start to copy the slides from the folder onto the CD.
Remove the CD from the burner drive and use a marker to identify the picture files that you just burned onto the CD.
