Instructions
Mount the picture to mat board. There are a couple of different ways to do this. Dry mounting using a heat press is one the most common ways. This will prevent the picture from warping during humid months and protects the picture. The board you mount the picture to should match the size of the glass in the picture frame.
Place the picture frame face down on a table or workbench. Depending on the type of frame you are using, either there will be triangular brackets held in place with screws on the corners of the frame, or there will be metal tabs holding the back of frame in place. Remove the screws or lift up the tabs to take the frame apart.
Remove the back of the frame and the glass for the frame. Clean the glass with a commercial glass cleaner and place the glass back inside the frame. If you are using a boarder mat in your frame, place it inside the frame. The mat should be laid face down on top of the glass.
Place your mounted photo inside the frame. Since you have mounted the picture to the middle of a mat that matches the size of the glass in the frame, the picture will be centered.
Apply the frame backing and secure in place by replacing the corners brackets or pushing the metal tabs back to their original position.
Turn the frame over, clean the front of the glass and wipe the frame down with a damp cloth. Hang your framed picture on the wall.
