Holidays
Make a photo card using colored construction paper to match a holiday theme. Fold the construction paper in half and decorate the front. You may choose to place the photo in the center of the front or at an angle. Depending on the theme, the photo can also go on the inside. Write your message on the card as normal. To make the photo card stand out, you can cut the card out in a design. For example, a Valentine's photo card, can have the shape of a heart. The photo can be cut in the chosen shape as well. For a sturdier card, use stronger paper. Card stock is a good choice to use, as it is stronger than construction paper. This craft idea can be used for any holiday, just make the appropriate changes to reflect the holiday.
Other Occasions
Photo cards can be given for almost any occasion and can be simple or embellished. For occasions or themes other than holidays, you can make a photo card and present it to others. It can include a couple, a pet or an individual. To make an embellished card, you can add glitter, jewels or other items. Another idea would be to have the card in a particular shape, letter, or design to symbolize the purpose of the card. For a sports fan, or someone who plays a football, for example, you can cut the card out in the shape of football, and decorate it brown. Next, include a picture of the child on the inside, along with a message, announcing their win, or newly interested sport. Birthday invitations can also be used for photo cards. Decide on a theme or type of card you want to create. Suggested ideas are, the age of the child or the first letter of their name. As with any card, the photo can go on the front or the inside. When choosing photos, it is common to use head shots of the subject rather than full body.
