How to Design Your Own Double Sided Photo Card

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and a handmade gift means more than a store-bought gift. A handmade photo card incorporates both of these elements and you can make and send them for virtually any occasion. Most photo card kits only allow printing on one side of the card, but you can make your own double-sided photo card at home. You must first design the card by following some steps and design guidelines.

Photos
Photo-editing software
Card stock
Printer

Instructions

  Choose which photos you would like to use for your photo card. You can use several images or one single image per side.

  Copy the photos into a single folder on your desktop for easy access.

  Open a new photo project in your photo-editing software. Select the same size image as the paper you will use for the card. This serves as the front of the double-sided photo card. Common photo card sizes include 4-by-6 inches and 5-by-7 inches

  Click and drag your chosen photos into the new image file.

  Arrange the photos in the desired position by clicking and dragging them around the image.

  Resize the photos by clicking the "Edit" tab from the file menu and selecting "Resize." Click a corner or side of the image and slide it to change its size.

  Add text by clicking the text tool, clicking text cursor on the image and typing in the desired text. You can move and resize the text in the same manner as the photos.

  Save the image and repeat the process to design the other side of the double-sided photo card.

  Insert your chosen card stock into a printer.

  Select the image for the front side of the card and print it.

  Retrieve the printed card from the printer and insert it into the printer so that the printer will print on its blank side.

  Select the image for the back side of the card and print it.
