How to Make a Homemade Picture ID

In today's world of heightened security, more people are required to carry photo identification. Individuals who work for a company likely will have the proper identification issued to them. But if you are self-employed or the owner of a company, you will have to produce this identification yourself. This can be done in just about any word-processing or photo-editing program.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the program you want to use on your home computer. Create a new blank file. Set the width of the file to 2 1/2 inches and the height to 3 1/2 inches.

    • 2

Type the name of the company across the top of the photo ID card. This should be in larger text than the rest of the card so the company is easily identifiable. You can use colored type to match your company's colors or your company logo for additional customization.

    • 3

Place the photo of the person for whom you're making the card just below the name of company. The picture should take up roughly two thirds of the photo ID and be easily viewed.

    • 4

Type the name and occupation of the person below the picture. Add a signature line at the bottom of identification card for the person to sign.

    • 5

Print the photo ID on photographic paper. Have the card owner sign the signature line. Trim the excess paper from the card and take it to an office stationary retailer to have it laminated for protection.
