Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place the Alden 200 film loader and a roll of bulk film, still in its protective black plastic wrapping inside a film changing bag. You should also include in the bag a pair of scissors. Close the double zip on the film changing bag.
Place the bag on a table, and turn the lights down or off, leaving one small light on inside the area you are working in. While changing bags are light tight, working in a dimly lit area will reduce the chance of spoiling the bulk film before it is placed into the film loader.
Insert your hands and arms into the openings that will give you access to the contents inside the bag. Carefully cut open the black plastic bag containing the bulk roll of film.
Open the Alden film loader door and place the bulk roll of film into the loader. Feed the leader from the film through the small slot where it will be attached to the film spools. Close the film loader door and secure in place the latch lock.
Open the film changing bag and remove the contents of the bag. Turn the small dial on the side of the loader to match the number of feet contained in the roll of film.
Open the loading bay door on top of the Alden film loader. Place a small amount of masking tape on the end of the film leader, tape the film leader to the film spool's spindle and place the spindle inside the spool so the film will enter through the small slot. Place a top and bottom cap on the spool.
Place the spool into the loading bay of the Alden 200 film loader and close the loading bay door. Turn the yellow handle and listen for a click as you turn. Each click represents an exposure. There is also an indicator dial on the side of the loader that will give you the number of frames in the spool.
Open the loading bay door, cut the film with the scissors and remove the spool, which is now ready to be used in your film camera.
