How to Make Color-Splash Sepia Photos

Monochromatic pictures come in two common forms: black-and-white and sepia. In film days, photographers did sepia toning during the photo-printing process. Using digital technology, you can easily adjust the color saturation and tint to achieve a picture that is the same color as traditionally printed sepia photos. Another advantage of using digital technology to create these photos is that you can add small splashes of color to the picture as well.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the photo you want to convert to sepia in the photo editor you use.

    • 2

Open the color-editing channels and adjust the slider until you reach the correct tint and saturation for a "Sepia" photo.

    • 3

Select the "Paint brush" tool from your photo editor and the color you want to use in the photo from the color palette.

    • 4

Press and hold the left button on your computer mouse and add the color to your photo.

    • 5

Click "File" and "Save as" to give your photo a new name and save it to your computer's hard drive.
