How to Dress for a Scary Photo Shoot

One of the most interesting elements about studio photography is that you can design the shoot to be any theme you want. Inside a studio, the photographer has control over all elements of the picture -- the props, the backdrop, the lighting and even the poses of the models. In addition, the photographer can also work with the models to help design or decide on a wardrobe for the shoot.

  Review examples of other scary photo shoots and see what items were used in those past shoots. If this is a new genre of the photographer or models, reviewing past work is a great way to get inspiration and ideas.

  Decide on the number of wardrobe changes that are going to be made. If you have booked a photographer for an hour shoot, discuss with the photographer the number of times you will be able to change your wardrobe. If time is tight, consider just using different accessories for different looks.

  Start with black, whether it is a dress, skirt, pants or shirt, there is a good chance that you will be wearing black at some point. You will also need to know the type of makeup you will be wearing. If the makeup is the scary part of the photo, the wardrobe should not distract from it.
