Paper Selection
Choose the photo paper finish that provides the look you need. Glossy paper looks most traditional, matte produces sharper images, satin reduces glare and high gloss is best for framing.
Check the quality of your paper. The package should indicate a weight of at least 55 lbs. with a brightness ratio of 90 or higher.
Look for a dots per inch- dpi setting marked on your photo paper packaging. Photos will print more quickly at 360-dpi or 720-dpi, but will be sharper at 1440-dpi or 2800 dpi.
Choose sticky back paper for one time peel and stick application or repositionable paper if you will be repeatedly moving your pictures around.
Select the photo paper size you require. Most printers can handle 3 X 5 inch, 4 X 6 inch, 5 X 7 inch or 8 X10 inch photo paper.
Printer Set Up
Load your paper into the printer or photo maker. Many printers have separate loading bays to accept the smaller paper. Check your printer for loading location and instructions.
Find the picture you wish to print. You can print directly from your digital camera, from a storage disc or chip, or from pictures saved to the hard drive on your computer. Follow the instructions for your hardware and software configurations.
Select "File" in the top left corner of your screen.
Select "Print" from the drop down menu.
Select "Properties" and indicate paper size, paper tray and dpi settings where applicable. Many printers automatically set the proper dpi for photo paper. Select "portrait" or "landscape" for picture orientation. Select number of copies desired.
Select "OK." Your photos will print on your sticky back paper.
