Open the battery door and remove the camera's battery. Flip the camera over and remove the screws from the bottom of the body. Screws may be found under the flash drive bay.
Remove the screws around the video out port. Lift up the padding around the viewfinder and remove the screws found underneath.
Pull away the front case from the camera. Remove the back cover. Make sure to disconnect the two ribbon cables attaching the back cover to the camera. Use tweezers to remove the ribbon cables along the top and the ones along the right side near the video port.
Locate the center metal shield in the main camera body. De-solder the joints of the shield and remove with a pair of tweezers. Remove the ribbon plugs from underneath and remove the PC board.
Flip the PC board over to reveal the sensor assembly. Unscrew the sensor assembly and flip over. Remove the screws holding the face of the sensor in place.
Peel the gasket off of the sensor to reveal the IR filter. Use a sharp knife to cut the adhesive away from the filter and remove the filter with tweezers. Reassemble the camera by going through the steps backward. Insert fresh batteries and test the camera.
