Canon PhotoStitch Instructions

Canon's PhotoStitch program is free software included when you purchase a Canon compact digital camera or one of their digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras. Once installed on your home computer, Canon's PhotoStitch software will combine two or more pictures to create a panoramic picture. The software is designed to work automatically and will give you the ability to fine-tune the final image.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the Canon software disk included with your Canon camera into your home computer, and follow the prompts to load the software onto your computer. Once loaded, open the PhotoStitch software by double-clicking the icon.

    • 2

Locate and identify the images you want to combine to create a panoramic picture. You do this through the PhotoStitch software by clicking "Open" in the navigation bar and then locating the images on your hard drive.

    • 3

Arrange the images you selected so they appear in the order you want in the panoramic picture. Use your computer mouse to click and hold the image, and reposition the image by dragging you mouse. When the picture is in the correct position, lift your finger off of the mouse button, and the picture will drop into its new location.

    • 4

Click the "Merge" button in Canon's PhotoStitch program to select the image parameters like size and number of pictures to be merged. Click "OK," and the program will create the new panoramic image.

    • 5

Click "Save" and give a name to your new image and save it with the rest of your edited pictures.
