Things You'll Need
Instructions
Cut a square hole in the bottom of the shoe box near the where the box folds to the narrower sides. The square should be slightly smaller than the 35mm slide in its holder.
Use the end or ball point pen or something similar to punch a small hole on either side of the square you just cut near the bottom of the square. These holes cannot be outside the width of the 35mm slide.
Slide the two hair bobby pins (one for each side) through the hole, so the flat part of the bobby pin in on the inside of the cardboard box, and the side with waves is on the bottom of the box, these will be your slide holders.
Cut a piece of white paper large enough to cover the square hole you cut, and to slide into the bobby pins on the inside of the box. Slide the paper in and using clear plastic tape, tape the paper and pins in place so they don̵7;t move around.
Stand the shoe box up on its opposite end from the cutout. Place a paperweight or small book inside the box to give it stability.
Position a ̶0;Gooseneck desklamp̶1; inside the shoe box and direct the light towards the cut out.
Connect your digital point and shoot camera on a small table-top tripod and position it so the cut out fills the viewfinder.
Connect your digital camera to your computer using a USB cable. Create a folder on your computer where the pictures of the slide will be saved to.
Place a 35mm slide into the bobby pin holder, take a picture of the slide, and repeat for each slide you need to copy to the CD.
Insert a blank CD into your computer, right click the folder containing the copied slides, and drag it to the CD drive icon. Once the computer is done copying the folder, your 35mm slides are now on a CD.
