How to Install a Fujifilm 6900Z Camera in Windows XP

The Fujifilm 6900Z camera lets you download pictures to your computer and also allows you to use the camera as a PC video camera. While the original CD that came with the camera did not support Windows XP, Fujifilm offers a camera driver and some software that you can download. If you purchased your camera after October 2001, you can use the installation CD included as long as it is version 2.0.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the CD that came with your camera if it is FinePix Version 2.0. Follow the installation wizard that appears after you insert the CD. If you do not have this version of FinePix, download the updated driver and software from the Fujifilm website. Double-click the file to start the installation process and follow the wizard that appears.

    • 2

Connect your Fujifilm camera to a USB port on your computer after the installation completes. Windows locates the drivers that you installed. If you set the camera to "Mass Storage mode," Windows gives a list of options to choose.

    • 3

Select "Continue Anyway" if you use the camera in "PC Camera mode." Windows will detect the camera and open the necessary programs that you installed.
