Kodak Paper Specifications

In 2007 the Kodak company ceased making black-and-white photographic papers. Since that time it has placed much of its efforts into improving a series of professional color papers that can record high-quality images from digital and negative-film sources. These papers come in a variety of finishes and sizes that are available to the professional photographer or print lab.
  1. Kodak Ektacolor Edge Paper

    • One of Kodak's most versatile color papers is called Kodak Ektacolor Edge Paper. This product is a resin-coated color print paper than can be used with images made from either color negatives or digital sources. This paper is stable and produces archival quality prints. The paper is not compatible with a safelight and so it should be loaded in total darkness. Edge paper can be purchased in either a roll or as a box of pre-cut sheets and it comes with either a glossy or matte finish. Cut paper sizes are 8 by 10, 11 by 14 or 16 by 20, while the largest roll size has a width of 20 inches.

The paper can be stored at room temperatures for six months or refrigerated for longer periods of time. Special procedures must be used for bringing refrigerated paper up to room temperature.

Kodak Professional Supra Endura VC Digital Paper

    • Kodak Professional Supra Endura VC Digital Paper is an archival, silver halide paper made specifically made for printing digital images. This paper is a resin-coated, multi-layered and can be used with LED, CRT or laser printers. This particular Endura paper comes in various types of finishes, including fine-grained lustre, glossy, smooth matt and silk. It is sold in rolls only and is designed to be used with the Kodak RA-4 chemical system. When the paper is refrigerated, specific warm-up recommended by Kodak procedures should be followed.

All total Kodak makes five other types of Endura papers besides the Supra Endura VC Digital. Their applications range from mixed digital and negative printing to the creation of transparent materials.

    Kodak Professional Inkjet Paper

    • Kodak Professional Inkjet paper is a non-silver paper that produces quality images which rivals those produce with silver halide papers such as Kodak "Edge" and "Endura." The professional inkjet paper comes with two finishes, glossy and lustre, and the paper can be purchased in rolls or cut pieces. Specially designed for both dye and pigment inkjet printers, this is a quick drying printing process that can create stable prints from an ordinary inkjet printer.
