Instructions
Read your printer's manual to determine whether it supports borderless printing. Standard letter paper is 8.5-by-11 inches. In order to print a photograph exactly this size, you must use a printer that does not require margins.
Scale the image using a photo-editing program such as Adobe Photoshop. Access "Image" from the menu bar at the top of the page and choose "Image Size." A dialogue box appears. Locate "Document Size" settings and choose "Inches" from the drop-down menu. In the measurement box next to "Width," type "11." Next to "Height," type "8.5." If your picture is horizontal, switch the numbers. Click "OK."
Press "Print" and "OK." Follow your printer prompts; most require you to select "borderless printing" from a menu. If your printer doesn't support borderless printing, the edges of the photograph will be lost. In that case, take a digital file of the photo to a professional print shop.
