How to Filter Harsh Fluorescent Lights

Fluorescent light is more energy efficient than incandescent or halogen light bulbs. The bulbs burn longer, use less power and emit less heat. Many offices and public buildings use fluorescent lights and there is a movement for households to switch to these lights as well. A drawback to using fluorescent light is that it emits an uneven color spectrum. This results in harsh lighting with sharp shadows and a greenish hue. For photography and video, these lights are unattractive. However, there are a lot of options which filter fluorescent light to create a color-balanced image.
