How to Put Pictures & Videos on a Scan Disk

Digital technology has provided the capability to save and share photos and video on portable storage devices like a SanDisk memory card. Digital technology records images and sound, then converts into digital data that is easily transferred from one storage device to another. SanDisk is one of many companies that manufactures portable storage drives like compact flash and SD memory cards of varying capacity.

  Connect a portable card reader into your desktop or laptop home computer by plugging the attached USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.

  Locate and open the folder on your computer's hard drive containing the video or pictures you want to save on SanDisk memory card. Position your cursor over the file icon to identify the size of the file you are transferring. If you are transferring individual photos, you may want to consider transferring them into a single folder, then determine the size of the folder.

  Insert a SanDisk memory card with enough storage capacity to accept the folder of images or video. Wait for a moment to allow your computer to acknowledge the empty card you have inserted into the card reader.

  Right-click on the folder of images or the video you are saving to the card, select "Send To" from the new menu and click on the icon identifying the card reader.

  Click "OK" and your computer will start to put the pictures and video onto the SanDisk card.
