How to Print Family Photos on a Board

One creative way to display your family photos is to transfer them to wood. It's easy to do, using an ink-jet printer and iron-on transfer paper. The board becomes an "instant frame" you can display in your home, and it makes your photo prints a lot more durable. You can even use the board in a crafts project to make it very personal.

Things You'll Need

Photo
Photo scanner
Photo-editing software
Ink-jet printer
Sheet of ink-jet compatible iron-on transfer paper
Scissors
Iron
Board, at least the size of your printed photo

Instructions

  Scan your photo into your photo-editing software.

  Use the "mirror image" function in the software to create a reverse image of the photo, also known as a horizontal "flip."

  Print the reversed image onto the transfer paper.

  Trim the image to size using the scissors.

  Lay the transfer image-side down on the board in the position in which you want it to appear.

  Turn the iron on and let it heat according to the instructions that came with the transfer paper.

  Rub the iron over the back of the transfer for 30 seconds, or according to the directions.

  Carefully peel the backing away from the transferred image.
